WHAT IS A LIFE GROUP?
Life Groups are at the heart of Disciple City Church; where disciples of Jesus are maturing in unity. God has not designed the life of a Christian to be journeyed alone. He has called us into community with our actual neighbors, and to lead others into the kingdom of God by disciple-making disciples. Our Life Groups help us to grow in Christ but to also know that our neighbors, colleagues, family members, and city are in desperate need of a savior. If we are serious about reaching our neighbors, the city of Dallas, and multiplying through the nations, we must live together in community as we reach those around us.
WHY ARE OUR LIFE GROUPS MIXED?
Our Life Groups are multi-ethnic in the broadest meaning. The groups are made up of different races, genders, generations, socio-economic statuses, cultures...etc. Jesus has broken down the dividing wall of hostility making different people groups into one and establishing peace. Our Life Groups help us grow in cultural awareness, cultural conflict, and Christ-centered reconciliation. When you do life with a group of people who are not like you, their hurt becomes your pain and their joy causes you to rejoice. These groups point to Jesus as a common cornerstone.
